Sand dunes are a vital first line of defence against coastal erosion and climate change. But they are fragile.
ACT (a social enterprise of architects, urbanists and policy specialists working to accelerate the Green Transition) is delighted to deliver Dune Action, a Beaches & Dunes Climate Adaptation Programme. Working with our partners, we support 12 coastal communities across Ireland that are facing accelerating dune erosion.
Our Day 1 training sessions focus on building an understanding of dune science using the 3Ss framework: Sand, Species and Space. We will explore practical, nature-based actions that local groups can take to protect and restore these essential ecosystems.
