As part of their National Tourism & Environmental Monitoring programme in 2025, Fáilte Ireland completed visitor and environmental surveys at Curracloe Beach, Co. Wexford. This site was one of eight tourism related sites to be monitored around the country in 2025.

The purpose of the monitoring was to gain insight from an environmental perspective at amenity and recreation sites across Ireland, to obtain data on visitor movements, path and trail conditions, existing features and habitats, flora, and fauna. The work was also intended to identify trends or variations at the site and to make recommendations where appropriate for site management for the benefit of the site, the visitor, and the natural environment.

Some of the recommendations made for this site on the back of monitoring included extension of protective dune fencing further along the beach, the consideration of formal pathways/trails leading from the carpark through the dunes to contain damage, signage to promote biodiversity, dog control and provision of rubbish bins and signage regarding beach safety and bye-laws.
